SouthEast Bank, a large financial institution based in East Tennessee, is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to join its team.

• Provide strategic direction, leadership, supervision, and execution of a coordinated compliance program for the Bank
• Utilize understanding of lending and depository regulations so as to advise the Bank on best practices
• Assess, develop, and implement sustainable compliance risk management structures and processes, including sustainable compliance risk management structures and processes, risk assessment, monitoring and testing, training, corrective action and reporting and supporting compliance technologies
• Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
• Oversee and monitor the performance of the compliance program and reviews on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve the effectiveness of the compliance program

• 8+ years of banking and regulatory compliance experience with a financial institution required; experience leading an in-house compliance function preferred
• Experience working with or at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) preferred
• Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation preferred
• Understanding of banking laws and regulations, including consumer compliance requirements (e.g., lending and depository regulations)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong problem solving and negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
