The Lending Assistant Manager is responsible for positive leadership, continuous process and procedure improvement, workflow coordination, annual performance goals, coaching, training and development for all Lending Assistants. This position has the flexibility to be based in various locations within the Bank's operating footprint in Virginia and North Carolina.
Provide day to day leadership and support for Lending Assistants throughout the AMNB footprint including work prioritization, work load distribution, provide backup assistance from time to time, being a resource for process and procedure questions and resolutions, documentation questions, etc.
Work with Regional Presidents and Market Presidents to provide clarity and consistency of the Lending Assistant role across the footprint.
Update the Lending Assistant job description to accurately reflect the job duties and expectations of the role and continue to update on an annual basis.
Manage the appropriate staffing levels for the Lending Assistants across the footprint and work with the Regional Presidents and Market Presidents to fill vacancies as they may arise.
Establish goals and performance plans for each Lending Assistant and seek input on annual performance reviews from the local markets.
Develop and maintain a Manual for Lending Assistants, including but not limited to Process and Procedures, Loan Documentation, Title Insurance, Hazard Insurance, Flood Insurance, Appraisal Ordering, Survey Matters, Environmental Standards, Loan Booking, Flow of Loan Documents Internally and Externally, Systems Usage (i.e. Synergy, Citrix, etc.) Ensure process and procedures meet Compliance and Regulatory requirements.
Conduct training for all Lending Assistants and career coaching to ensure the Lending Assistant team is highly performing.
Provide assistance to customers with escalated concerns/questions. Research circumstances and seek to provide rapid, positive and accurate communications and resolutions to problems encountered.
Serve as primary contact for the Lending Assistant team regarding enterprise communication.
Provide regular feedback and recommend solutions from Lending Assistants to bank management on potential process or systems improvements, including suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation. Build meaningful relationships with the team to maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates in order to ensure accurate and efficient operations and service.
Actively participate in management meetings and other leadership forums in the bank. Communicate meeting information in a timely manner with department associates.
Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
Foster and promote the proper bank image at all times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree or equivalent related experience required.
Five (5) years previous experience as a Paralegal, Lending Assistant, Loan Operations/Documentation Specialist or equivalent related experience required.
Previous experience with lending compliance and banking regulations required.
Two (2) years previous supervisory experience required.
Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.

Good working knowledge of surveys, title commitments, insurance certificates, document exceptions, leases, construction contracts, easements, etc.
