Responsible for providing bank-wide operational, compliance and risk management leadership and oversight under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) with the objective of assuring that the First National Bank of Hutchinson (“Bank”) provides excellent customer service with timely and innovative product and service delivery and efficient and accurate operational support while maximizing safety and soundness and minimizing losses through enterprise-wide risk management processes. The COO will also play a critical role in helping shape and guide the future growth and development of the bank. Directs, administers, and coordinates the activities of operations in support of policies, goals, culture, digital strategy, core values and objectives established.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintain overall oversight for all aspects of utilizing the Bank’s retail branches, including the implementation of strategies and establishment of goals, to achieve growth, profit, operational efficiency, and customer services objectives.
Collaborates as a member of the leadership team on Bank-wide strategic planning initiatives and corporate direction.
Manages the bank’s Information Technology and Data Processing teams. This includes oversight of internet products, cybersecurity, technology conversions, and online presence, including Online Banking, the corporate website, social media outlets, and related digital channels.
Identifies questionable actions, operational inefficiencies, and collaborates with employees to resolve issues and challenges.
Develop short and long-range marketing objections and develop performance standards for measuring progress.
Recommend policies regarding pricing; promotion; product and marketing evaluations; and marketing plans.
Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and recommendations or conclusions.
Analyze competitors’ products and services and suggest changes to the Bank’s products and services when necessary.
Stays abreast of regulations and legislation, as well as other political and policymaking events that directly affect the Bank.
Contribute to the development of business unit strategy for the next 2-3 years by providing a view on potential improvements for products or services and an assessment of the existing situation and anticipated changes in the external environment.
Sign off capital expenditure within budget. This includes approving purchase or sell decisions for computers, laptops, departmental equipment etc.
Benchmark productivity of operations against industry standards and create measures to improve productivity.
Accountable for planning and opening of new branches in terms of expansion of the business and business plans.
Establish and maintain a succession plan for the management team.
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
Manage a lead role in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
Manage relationships with partners/vendors.
Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the CEO.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field. An MBA or advances study in Finance/Accounting/Business Management or Graduate School of Banking is preferred.
Seven to ten years of progressive and proven experience in bank management. Strong management and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Superior knowledge regarding Bank regulation, compliance and risk management.
Interpersonal skills to interact and manage professional relationships.
