As a Mortgage Loan Officer, your duties will be to:
Include outside sales and the origination of residential and consumer loans.
Promote the bank’s products and services to the community while increasing the bank’s presence and competitiveness within the market. You will need to provide exceptional customer service and maximum profitability. You will also develop and service small commercial deposit and loan relationships, working with our Commercial Lender partners.
Calling on Retail and Commercial clients, both existing and prospective to develop new business, and to increase and retain existing business.
Day to day you will:
Provide stellar Customer Service
To ensure a positive customer experience
Be responsible and accountable for resolving customer inquiries/issues
Process and close all retail loans with a primary focus on mortgage and home equity production
Underwrite and approve or deny consumer loans; you will consult with other loan officers or senior lenders for approval and denial of loans that are over your authority.
Assist other loan officers with questions concerning loan products, policies and procedures. You will approve or deny loans for loan officers with lesser lending authority.
Approve or deny loans with exceptions to loan policy, within your authority
You will be the Senior Lender in the branch
Responsibility for growth of loan portfolio will be yours
You need to have comprehensive knowledge of loan policies, procedures and compliance
As a MLO, you will be an active participant in our retail loan committee
Responsible for outside business development activities to develop and manage a book of business, which includes consumer loans, home equities, residential mortgages, commercial and retail deposit accounts, with a focus specifically on bringing new customers to the bank while growing existing customer relationships.
Responsible for creating business plan to achieve individual goals and objectives
Set minimum contacts # for existing clients and prospects per wk w/ minimum number that must be outside calls
Volunteer and represent the bank in community service activities, organizations, bank sponsored events and minimum of two bank sponsored trade shows
Identify opportunities to achieve high cross-sell results to existing and new customers to enhance overall relationship.
Assist department manager and branch manager in creating sales strategies based on forecasts and market trends.

You'll be a mentor to branch team members and set a sales/service leadership example

At the minimum, the right candidate will meet the following criteria:
College Degree or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated sales ability.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills (i.e. verbal and written)
• Strong interpersonal skills – good listener, decisive.
• Excellent knowledge of bank products and services.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Consumer and residential lending experience preferred.
• Be willing to accept direction/instruction and work well within a team of professionals
• Have a solid foundation in credit skills, finance and accounting
• Have strong negotiating skills.
