We are currently seeking an individual with a working knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping to assist with a variety of daily accounting functions and oversee the maintenance of accurate information within our accounts receivable system.
Responsibilities will include:
Applying cash to customer accounts
Balancing the sub ledger to the trial balance and verifying the daily deposits
Entering payments against various customer accounts
Performing end of the month reconciliation for the entries for trial balances
Contacting customers about short payment or payments in questions
Editing and verifying all data entered in the system and bringing duplicate payments to the attention of management
Requesting rebills if a discount is taken beyond the terms and arranges for check pick-ups
Preparing various reports and lists as needed
Making collection calls as needed and recommendations to improve services and processes in the business unit
Handling other related functions as assigned
To qualify, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a minimum of 1-year accounts receivable experience, and knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping functions. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities will be expected, as will knowledge of software applications (MS Office Suite). Superior oral/written communication, organizational, multitasking and customer service skills are all required.
