The VP Operations Manager is a key senior leadership position, responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the bank’s core operating system, and managing the deposit and electronic banking support teams. The VP Operations Manager oversees the functional activities in support of the company’s strategic objectives, possessing a comprehensive understanding of the core operating system and leading a team that can effectively manage the bank’s infrastructure. The VP Operations Manager is responsible for ongoing system optimization and process improvements necessary to maintain an effective and competitive core operating system to continue to ensure a superior customer experience. The VP Operations Manager cultivates high-performance culture by creating a work environment that supports engagement, innovation, creativity, and teamwork, consistent with the organization’s vision, core values, and team guidelines.
Leads Operations team consistent with vision, values, and team guidelines. Sets department goals, develops dashboards to measure department productivity and progress toward goals. Communicates effectively with a customer service orientation. Ensures that team is provided with clear goals, tools and training required to consistently deliver quality service to internal and external customers.
Supports and assists in implementation of the operations strategy, vision and resources by developing a vision for the operations team and implementing this vision through value-added technology and processes that provide the best return on investment while maximizing the customer and user experience.
Expert in bank operating system and peripheral systems; designs workflows and assigns staff to best support bank operating systems; makes recommendations for optimizing system utilization and bank efficiency in general; ensures processes are developed, deployed, and documented, with sound controls in place.
Stays abreast of technology trends, risks, and regulatory changes that relate to the industry.
Ensures that operational technology and processes are managed consistent with best practice and regulatory requirements.
Collaborates and coordinates with the IT department on current and future initiatives, status, upgrades, and system maintenance to ensure effective communication, prioritization, and implementation.
Conducts budgeting, monitoring, and dashboard monitoring and reporting.
Other duties and special projects as required.
This position can be located in the Fargo/West Fargo or Devils Lake markets.
Bachelor’s degree in business-related field required with 7+ years of experience in bank operations. 2+ years of management experience required. Experience working with FiServ (core operating system) preferred.
