This role is responsible for the consistent execution of corporate sales strategies, brand values, programs, best practices, as well as constant evaluation of profitable sales performance across the assigned geographic region. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role is directly responsible for managing the customer experience and sales performance within the region, as well as, providing oversight of regional team partnerships for the purpose of creating a unique brand experience to retain, expand and/or acquire full customer relationships across all lines of business.
Manages the retail banking function of an assigned geographic area as follows:
a. Maintains responsibility for generating revenue, managing expenses, and achieving established profitability goals and financial measurements for the region. Proactively evaluates sales performance analytics, identifying leading key indicators and driving growth.
b. Develops long term strategies and annual business plans that focus on brand execution, competitive trends and opportunities, market expansion and promotion, and line of business integration.
c. Coordinates and manages the delivery of deposit, lending, wealth management, and financial planning products and services that best meet each customer’s goals and objectives.
d. Provides direct leadership and supervision of assigned community office staff; provides guidance and direction to business team operating within assigned geographic area, including the commercial, wealth management, and mortgage lines of business.
e. Provides strong leadership, management, and coaching support to the relationship managers in assigned area to promote a culture of on-going feedback, performance and development discussions to enhance the overall associate experience and employee value proposition; works with them to develop strategic sales plans that provide guidance and direction.
f. Actively represents the Bank in public relations by serving on boards, committees and non-profit related community activities, including chamber and economic development organizations; works to develop strong referral networks.
g. Meets with existing high priority customers (consumer, business and wealth) to develop an understanding of their financial needs in order to expand the relationship and retain in over the long-term.
h. Meets with high priority prospects (consumer, business and wealth) to develop an understanding of their financial needs in order to acquire them as a customer and further expand the relationship.
I. Actively participates in new business development activities; including maintaining active prospect lists and managing individual client pipeline to achieve calling goals.
j. Monitors the coordination of administrative and operations activities with the appropriate departments to ensure high levels of customer service and compliance with established strategies, policies, and procedures.
k. Conducts staff development activities for all team members in assigned area, including sales and leadership training; conducts monthly team sales meetings.
l. Leads the regional Advisory Groups in the assigned area. Including the selection of members, developing meeting agenda’s and building relationships for the purpose of market info, advise and referral networks.
m. Builds relationships and integrates with division heads of Commercial, Mortgage, and Wealth Management lines of business.
Drives Omni Channel adoption for both consumer and business services.
Executes, leads and mentors the Universal Banker and Branch Transformation strategy.
Implements strategies to achieve goals assigned to the department as established in the Retail Banking Division's annual operating plan; assists in the development of the annual budget for the office and adheres to budget parameters.
Responsible for the planning and execution of the region’s talent management strategy; including on-going talent assessment and development of personnel aligned with short and long-term performance goals. Continually networks and maintains a pipeline of prospective candidates for employment; and works in conjunction with Chief Human Resources Officer and Human Resources to source and recruit talent. Works with the Corporate Learning Officer to create and implement effective employee development plans.
Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA); Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.; ensures that the department and all personnel adhere to the same.
Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:
a. Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.
b. Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
c. Reviews employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
d. Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.
e. Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the office and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
f. Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by bank policy.
Communicates with the Chief Revenue Officer, other office managers, and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
Provides periodic reports and/or presentations to Chief Revenue Officer, Management Team, Board of Director’s other groups as required throughout the Bank.
Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Demonstrated leadership and relationship management skills with an ability to successfully create an impact through consensus building, negotiations and influence in the assigned market. Strong people leader with demonstrated experience in identifying and growing talent. Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written. Effectively multi-task and manage initiatives, with flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing environments. Strategic thinking, developing and executing regional strategic business plans and delivering both quick wins and long-term value-added results. Be accountable for the impact of advice and decisions on the Bank, as well as its customers, associates and shareholders. Understands and support the Bank’s culture, brand values and customer experience strategy. Exhibits a strong community orientation.
Experience A minimum of ten (10) years related or equivalent to sales and leadership experience required with proven sales performance goal achievements. Small business lending experience, required. Commercial lending background, with related experience in loan origination, underwriting and portfolio management, preferred. Wealth product knowledge and referral track record, preferred.
