The Retirement Education Specialist personifies the education program of the YMCA Retirement Fund by offering educational opportunities for the Fund’s three constituencies: participants, retirees and YMCAs as employers, targeted to their issues and interests. This position will support the Director of Education in maximizing the Fund’s relationship with the YMCA Movement. This is accomplished by presenting at Association and Regional YMCA events and proactively contacting YMCAs as directed to offer educational opportunities. This position requires the employee to be regarded as an effective and knowledgeable representative of the Fund to assist in the advancement of the Fund’s mission. A primary goal is to become an engaged partner. This position does not require meeting sales goals.
Presents at local YMCA meetings, regional YMCA conferences and events and YMCA benefits fairs
Provides personal consultations to all level of YMCA employees at Association and conference events
Engages with C-Suite level staff and Policy Volunteers in both structured settings and informal venues
Assists Ys in understanding rules and responsibilities according to plan Rules and ERISA guidelines
Captures education activities through the use of Salesforce and/or other organizational IT platforms
Participates in departmental and organization wide projects and teams designed to enhance Y Relations initiatives, especially participant education
Participates in special projects and performs other Y Relations assignments as needed
Experience (minimum needed).
Five (5) years of experience in financial services industry in retirement planning and educating participants
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Traits:
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills a must. Articulate and able to write correspondence that is clear and concise
Ability to manage ongoing relationship with high level customers
Experience in client relationship management or high level customer service preferred
Ability to quickly learn new systems/technology
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Telecommuting is allowed.
Additional Salary Information: We offer a competitive total compensation package which includes 12% retirement contribution. We are looking for a mid-west or west coast based candidate and will offer telecommuting.
