Summary: Provides administrative and project support to the Association’s federal, state and local advocacy initiatives and member relations initiatives by performing the following duties personally or through other team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Updates and monitors bill tracking lists and legislative positions, and prepares bill summaries for distribution and bill position information for members;
Assist with hearing schedules, maintains session files and interacts with State Legislative Services office;
Coordinates meetings and annual legislative events with bankers, key legislative committees, national trade groups, and Congressional delegation and regulators;
Provide assistance in preparing documents for testimony;
Assists in coordinating and scheduling meetings and travel;
Provides for back up to the front reception area in answering phones, responding to requests for information or directing the calls to the appropriate staff person when needed;
Works with President and CEO on member outreach meetings, creates meeting presentations, and conducts outreach follow up, needs assessment, tracking and due diligence.
Assists with coordinating the activities of the Emerging Leaders “Champion” Program and compliance initiatives of the Association;
Assists in conducting, planning and summarizing research and surveys as needed.
Provide assistance with the distribution and preparation of the Association’s e-communications and publications that include but not limited to: MBA Banking Now, CEO Bulletin, Legislative Bulletin, Calls to Action, and Member Alerts.
Works with the grassroots database and helps coordinates state and federal grassroots communications and updates media log;
Keeps abreast on the two National Financial Education initiatives for which the Association serves as a conduit: Get Smart About Credit and Teach Children to Save Day;
Assist with the Association’s website and social media outlets to ensure all are current and up-to-date with pertinent news and information.
As needed assist with the fundraising solicitations distribution tracking of candidates and annual campaign of the Maryland BankPAC.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, the Internet, and other relevant software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing and Association database.
