Serves as the Assistant Director of the Division of Banking.
Plans, develops, organizes, controls, and manages the daily operations of the Statewide Bank Supervision Program.
Oversees the compliance and regulation of Pawnbrokers, Specialized Activities, and Statewide Risk Management Supervision of Banks, Trusts Companies and Savings Institutions.
Responsible for the chartering or authorization and the supervision, regulation and examination of state-chartered banks, savings banks, trust departments, trust companies, and foreign banking offices.
Responsible for the examination and regulation of the data processing centers of state banks and trust companies.
Licenses foreign bank representative offices, foreign corporate fiduciaries and pawnshops.
Make recommendations and implements methods, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Serves as a member of the Division’s Policy Committee.
** The Division of Banking has offices in Chicago and Springfield. Candidate has the option to be based out of either location. **
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four years of college with courses in accounting, corporate finance, banking and monetary theory.
Requires six years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, banking or examination work.
Requires five years of progressively responsible experience as a bank regulator or five years of progressively responsible experience as an executive officer or manager of a depository institution with complex responsibilities supervising multiple functions.
Requires extensive knowledge of supervisory/managerial/examination techniques.
Requires thorough knowledge of laws, rules and regulation governing the banking industry, especially those involving the regulated industry.
