The position of Commercial Lender I is responsible for activities that complement the Loan Department with existing and new customers. The position is responsible for analyzing and making credit recommendations to a Senior Lender/Executive Loan Committee for approval. In addition, this position is responsible for cultivating new deposit and service relationships with Commercial customers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors and Manages existing credit relationships which includes timely note renewals, delinquency reporting, documentation of exceptions, covenant monitoring, monitors asset and credit quality and compliance with banking regulation.
Analyzes and evaluates credit requests. Writes loan commitments. Writes credit grades. Makes oral presentations to a Senior Lender/Executive Loan Committee. Assists in implementing approval or decline actions with accordance to Citizens Bank Loan Policy.
Ensures researching and curing collateral, insurance and general exceptions are cured and in compliance with Citizens Bank Loan Policy and Guidelines. Proactively contacts customers about past due accounts and overdrafts.
Develops new business through calling with Senior Lender’s on existing and prospective customers. Promotes and cross -sells Citizens Bank services. Works with Bank Operations to ensure quality of service and excellent customer experience.
Serves as primary contact for all financial services to their assigned customers.
Preferred Work Experience:
Minimum of one-year experience in banking.
Minimum of six months experience working with Commercial Credit (SBA, Commercial, Credit Analyst).
Basic knowledge of credit underwriting, credit quality, documentation, loan policy and regulations.
Preferred Education and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting or Finance or Five years equivalent work experience.
Good communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations.
Good PC skills including knowledge of Excel and Word.
