Summary: Serves as a single point of contact for walk-in customers, fulfilling sales, service and referral needs. The Customer Service Representative is a hybrid between teller and new account representative and may look to successfully migrating to a position of Retail Banker who is also able to offer non-complex consumer and mortgage loans. Multi-faceted responsibilities range from cash handling and basic transactions to product and service sales, and referrals to other lines of business. Primary skills include key product knowledge, relationship building, customer service and sales.
Staff in the Customer Service areas of the bank must possess a nonstop professional attitude and outward appearance with an unshakeable energetic personality that is consistent even when dealing with customers where the interaction is unpleasant or upsetting.
The Customer Service Representative must be agile and adaptable to their banking facility.
Organizational Environment: This position reports to both the Retail Banking Officer and Teller Services Supervision as applicable or if assigned to a Branch Manager, would report under the supervision of the local branch management. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities: Reception and Branch Operational duties such as, but not limited to, greeting customers, answering telephones and other clerical duties, maintaining lobby amenities and marketing materials. New Account duties such as, but not limited to, providing callers with rate and product information and opening deposit accounts. Teller duties, such as, but not limited to, receiving checks and cash for deposit, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, entering customer transactions into a computer system, rolling coin, placing holds and showing proper judgment on various transactions.
Required: Teller Training or Cash Handling Experience. Applicant should be knowledgeable in Windows and Microsoft Office software products. Must be committed to exceptional customer focused service, being a team player with a willingness to help others, patient, professional, self-motivated and possess good communication skills.
Preferred: Two (2) years of banking experience or completion of an approved educational program or equivalent combination of education and experience. Sales or Customer Service Experience. New Account Experience. Helpful CSI NuPoint and Finastra Deposit Pro Experience

Wages are commensurate with education and experience but will typically range from $10.00/hr to $15.00/hr.
