Using prior experience, a qualified candidate will have the opportunity to be directly involved in the design of the new operations solution and the mortgage products we offer. Our primary goal is to make mortgages that we will hold for investment, not sell on the secondary market.

Applications – Meet with prospective customers and complete their initial mortgage loan application through phone and face to face interviews. Listen to the prospective customers needs and recommend the mortgage loan product that best meets these needs. This position will be the primary contact person for loan applicants and necessary third parties throughout the mortgage origination process. Also review and process any mortgage loan applications accepted through our local branch network.

Processing – Review and analyze application. Prepare initial disclosures in a timely manner per regulatory guidelines. Prepare financial workup and review common metrics to ensure customer has the ability to repay the loan under the recommended terms. Order/Review any needed third party documents. Work with our Compliance Department to schedule appraisals. Present to our local loan committee for final approval. If approved, prepare all loan closing documents. (We presently have our mortgage loan documents prepared in house in one central location. A qualified applicant would work with our existing employee and be knowledgeable in the preparation of all loan documents.) Monitor the process from beginning to end and follow-up accordingly.
Closing – Meet with customers at the branch most convenient to them to present and complete all loan documents. Secondary meetings may be necessary to complete applicable rescission documents. Introduce new customers to branch staff to strengthen the new customer relationship and conduct/allow for cross-selling opportunities.
Other – Other duties will be assigned as needed and as schedule allows. May also be involved in general consumer/commercial loans, operations, or other areas of the Bank. Special tasks may also be assigned by Senior Management as needed.
Education/Experience – High school education, with college degree preferred. Excellent in basic math skills. 2 years of Mortgage Loan Origination preferred.
