Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations for entry level to moderately complex accounting matters such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and expense accruals.
Researches and corrects account discrepancies
Reviews transactions to assure conformance to Railinc policies; examines fiscal source documents for completeness, mathematical accuracy, proper authorization where applicable, sufficiency of information for purpose, and proper general ledger coding.
Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements.
Assists with or independently performs annual fixed asset inventories.
Prepares periodic reporting and analysis for assigned accounting areas
Continuously strives for process and procedure improvements
Supports other Corporate Services positions as requested

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business discipline with major/concentration in accounting with 2+ years of related accounting experience or MBA (concentration in accounting) with 0-2 years of related accounting experience
Experience with Oracle Financials (preferred) or similar ERP systems
Experience with SAGE Fixed Asset Software is desirable
Intermediate Excel skills (proficient with Lookups, Pivot Tables, IF/THEN statements)
Intermediate Microsoft Office productivity software skills (particularly Word & Outlook)
