We are seeking a Director of Wealth Management to act as an advisor to clients and also manage a team of advisors, advisor associates, and paraplanners. The position meets with clients on a regular basis to cultivate existing client relationships, identify client needs, and provide wealth management advice. The position ensures the proper handling of service programs, pro-actively communicates with clients, and coordinates the efforts of the wealth management team.
Hold meetings with clients to review their wealth management plan.
Assess client risk tolerance and adjust customized portfolio targets as needed.
Select financial planning solutions that will fit the client’s risk tolerance and time frame.
Present alternative proposals for the client as potential solutions to meeting financial goals.
Solicit the consolidation of outside assets from existing clients.
Solicit referrals from existing clients and solicit referred prospective clients to become clients of Polaris Greystone.
Respond to client service requests as needed, such as cash requests, referrals, and tax reporting.
Record information in a timely manner in CRM (Salesforce).
Plan client appreciation events from inception to implementation including site selection, catering, managing guest lists, and event logistics.
Review advisors’ notes and conduct meetings with advisors to ensure they are communicating a consistent message to clients.
Manage client relationship assignments to wealth advisers, making adjustments as needed to ensure client satisfaction.
Evaluate current client service model and methods; implement changes and improvements.
Coordinate with the Operations to ensure all year end requirements are completed (such as RMDs, Roth conversions, and tax loss harvesting).
Oversee cost basis reporting and create annual tax letter packages per current guidelines.
Expand knowledge of current trends in wealth management and update and mentor staff.
Review performance of wealth management employees and communicate overall performance on a quarterly basis to the Managing Partner.
Participate as a member of the Investment Committee.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
Professional designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
At least 4 years in financial services working with high net worth individuals/families.
Managerial experience in related field.
Ability to manage complex client relationships.
Superior knowledge of portfolio management, including tactical asset allocation, traditional and non-traditional asset classes, and various investing styles.
Thorough knowledge of financial planning issues related to managing wealth.
Advanced skills on financial planning software and portfolio performance software. Excellent MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with client relationship management (CRM) software.
Excellent interpersonal skills and client face-to-face relationship building skills; team leader; attention to detail; strong organizational skills; punctual; problem solver; ability to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
Valid California driver’s license; applicant must have own car.
Hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
