A South Central Pennsylvania company is looking for a Director of Finance with a strong manufacturing background to join their team. As the Director of Finance, you will be the key Finance contact responsible for providing the financial expertise and recommendations that enable effective decision-making within the business. This role manages all cost and financial accounting processes for the plant including period end close and analysis, forecasting, standards development, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, fixed asset, inventory, weekly financial reporting, and monitoring controls for compliance to corporate policy.
Manage the financial system, ensuring maximum productivity and that it meets the needs of the business
Responsible for the delivery of cost-effective and efficient accounting and financial policies, practices, processes and systems that meet the current and future business requirements; ensures policies and practices are effectively communicated, understood and implemented
Effectively communicates functional status across Company; regularly interacts with other functions to assure sound understanding of matters relevant to Company’s finances; provides ongoing financial modeling and analysis expertise to business partners; leads the financial modeling and analysis to support the development of long term strategic initiatives and business plans
Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, prior year, & forecast, and other matters bearing on the financial and operating effectiveness of the company.
Interpret financial data for management use in business decisions and identify opportunities for improvement in both plant operations and support processes impacting business effectiveness.
Responsible for the Company insurance and risk management program; oversees the annual insurance renewal process and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained at all times; ensures appropriate legal review of contracts and solicit legal advice where appropriate; reviews financial worthiness of all customers and vendors
Works with human resources (HR) to manage the payroll function ensuring efficient, cost-effective systems, process and controls; collaborates with HR to ensure financial aspects of all benefit programs are effectively understood and managed
Manage key performance indicators and support decision making to reduce costs and improve profitability
Develop forecasting and budgeting of Profit and Loss statement (including direct material, labor and overhead costs) and Balance Sheet (like fixed assets, inventory and accounts receivable)
Effectively manage direct reports including assuring up-to-date position descriptions, establishment and auditing of performance expectations, annual reviews, individual development plans, and training

Proven management-level skills in financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventory valuation, with strong track record of accurate and timely financial reporting.
Proficient in use of accounting systems, implementation of corporate financial practices, analysis of financial and operating information to facilitate decision making, and recommending actions to improve performance.
Proficiency with standard desktop computer software applications, Financial and ERP systems
Bachelor’s Degree Required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
Current CPA Required
5 - 7 years of practical exposure, ideally with supervisory experience, in some of the following areas: Financial Planning and Analysis, evaluating business performance, Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting and Control. Supply Chain finance experience is a plus.
